Daisy May upsizes her apartment for a two-bedroom house at Laureate Fields

UEA psychology student Daisy-May, 23, recently upsized from a one-bedroom apartment at Laureate Fields to a two-bedroom house.

Daisy-May purchased her apartment in The Spencer block last year but loved the development so much that she wanted to future-proof her life at Laureate Fields by upsizing to a house.

“I bought an apartment last year but wanted a house that I could grow into,” said Daisy-May. “I’m happy here and don’t see myself moving anytime soon. I also have a puppy now, so it made sense to get something bigger with a garden.”

Her new 767sqft two-bedroom Masefield house, features two double bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor with a spacious open-plan kitchen/living/dining room covering the majority of the ground floor. There is also a spacious garden for Daisy-May’s dog to play in.

Daisy-May knows the area well from visiting as a child and sees herself settling in Old Felixstowe and Laureate Fields for the foreseeable future.

“My family home is just 15 minutes from Old Felixstowe and it’s an area that I’ve always visited since being a child,” said Daisy-May. “I liked the feel of Laureate Fields when I came and drove around. It’s nice and open and the houses aren’t on top of each other; there’s lots of greenery. I like the open-plan layout downstairs. And I like the finish – the oak doors and the modern clean lines.”

Laureate Fields is approached down a tree-lined boulevard that connects to a large communal green at the centre of the development. Many of the homes are set back from the road with landscaped front gardens and car parking positioned in between the houses.

Daisy-May’s house features a contemporary German-engineered designer kitchen with a full-range of integrated appliances including a stainless-steel oven, 4-zone ceramic hob, fridge-freezer and multi-function dishwasher. The bathroom is fitted with high quality ceramic sanitaryware, a steel bath with shower mixer, and finished with ceramic wall tiles and a feature wall.

Engineered oak flooring covers the entire open-plan living space on the ground floor. All of the doors in the house are oak veneer with chrome handles, while plug sockets and light switches are finished in an elegant brushed-steel.

Daisy-May continues: “I love the location – it’s just 10 minutes from the sea. Old Felixtowe is really peaceful and quiet. It’s lovely to walk down to the beach with the dogs and catch up with friends. You have the swimming pool and the theatre – and the Blue & Berry café is a nice little spot for breakfast or lunch.”

Laureate Fields is situated next to the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and offers the perfect starting point for walks or cycle rides to Felixstowe Ferry along the picturesque banks of the River Deben.

Daisy-May was also impressed with the customer service: “Generator are really friendly and helpful. I always get quick responses to queries and the onsite builders will come round if you need anything. Communication has been great throughout the whole process – and they were really helpful when I told them I wanted to move into a house.”

The remaining two-bedroom apartment and two, three and four-bedroom houses at Laureate Fields start from £230,000.
