From the balcony of their new Laureate Fields home Dr Martin Barry and his wife Gillian can see the River Deben as it winds its way through the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that borders their house.
Dr Barry says the couple have found the perfect place to relax in their retirement after moving into a 4-bedroom Austin home with an open plan living/kitchen/dining area and a separate living room and study.
He said: “It is wonderful to have the views of the river and it is just a 10-minute walk to the sea with our dog and just 15 minutes to the town of Felixstowe. To be able to hear the sea from the house was a pleasant surprise.
“Having sold our previous home we needed to move quickly and decided on Laureate Fields as we wanted no chain and that was one advantage of buying a newly built home. Buying a new home at Laureate Fields also meant that we got all new appliances, it was decorated perfectly, with good energy efficiency and well insulated.
“We have already made good friends over the road, our neighbours are brilliant and the location couldn’t be better. We like going to the theatre so having the Spa Pavilion Theatre just down the road is fantastic. There are good places to eat out, like the Fludyers Arms and great local shops – Felixstowe is an up-and-coming place.”
The couple moved around 30 miles from near Stowmarket, and were able to complete their purchase within a month of reserving. Dr Barry said their purchase was a smooth process helped by the sales team at Laureate Fields, who were there to lend a hand throughout.
Now months after moving into Laureate Fields the couple are content with their move and enjoying the space and location of their new home.
